Solution
Let the incomes of A and B be Rs.9a and Rs.7a respectively.
Let the expenditures of A and b be Rs.4b and Rs.3b respectively.
Given each saved Rs.200
Savings of A = 9a − 4b = 200 ———–>(1)
Savings of B = 7a − 3b = 200————->(2)
Solving (1) and (2) we get
a = 200 and b = 400
⇒ sum of their weekly incomes is = 9a + 7a
= 16a = 16 × 200
= Rs.3200
