Solution
In a certain code DESPAIR is written as TFEQSIB. How is NUMERICAL written in that code ?
The word DESPAIR is divided into three parts:
First half (DES), Middle alphabet (P) and Last half (AIR).
Each alphabet of each part is increased by 1. Then first and the last halves are reversed.
D + 1 = E; E + 1 = F; S + 1 = T
Now the first half is EFT.
Reverse order is TFE.
P + 1 = Q
A + 1 = B; I + 1 = J; R + 1 = S
Now the second half is BJS.
Reverse order is SJB.
Hence, the code obtained is TFEQSJB.
Similarly, three parts of NUMERAL are:
First half (NUM), Middle alphabet (E) and Last half (RAL).
N + 1 = O; U + 1 = V; M + 1 = N;
Reverse order of OVNF is NVO.
E + 1 = F
R + 1 = S; A + 1 = B; L + 1 = M
Reverse order of SBM is MBS.
Hence, the code is NVOFMBS.
